Johannesburg - The Nashua Titans virtually clinched the SuperSport Series trophy on day two of their match against the Sunfoil Dolphins at SuperSport Park on Friday after routing their opponents twice in one day.

The Dolphins only managed to survive for 20.5 overs in their first innings before being bowled out for 62 and their second innings wasn’t much better as they collapsed to 81/7 in their follow on. They are still well over 300 runs in arrears overall.

The Titans have already taken more than 11 points out of this match and could have won in two days but for bad light. Heino Kuhn has so far taken seven catches to go with his century while Ethy Mbhalati has taken six wickets.

By contrast, the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras had another frustrating day at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium. Only 111 overs have been possible over the two days and the Lions have batted very solidly to pile up 358/6. Temba Bavuma again batted impressively to take his season aggregate past 600 at an average of more than 50 while Alviro Petersen has completed 800 runs.

The Cobras only managed two bowling points which means they are probably going to have to score somewhere close to nine batting points and win outright to keep the Titans at bay.

In the third match at Axxess St. George’s Arno Jacobs scored his 16th first-class century and Ashwell Prince his sixth half-century of the season to give the Chevrolet Warriors a useful first innings lead of 78 over the Chevrolet Knights.

By the close of play the Knights were struggling on 17/2.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
