Play was delayed until after lunch, due to a wet outfield.

Once play got underway, the Warriors struck first when Reeza Hendricks (12) was caught by Basheer Walters off the bowling of Andrew Birch.

But strong knocks from Dean Elgar, who scored a 150-ball 70, and a brilliant century from Rilee Rossouw, who holed out on 122 stabilised the Knights' innings.

Rossouw found the ropes on 14 occasions in his 196-ball 122. It was Rossouw’s ninth first-class century and his first in this season’s SuperSport-series.

At close of play Ryan McClaren was on 22 and Johan van der Wath on six.

Warriors bowler was the pick of the bowlers, as he claimed the wickets of Reeza Hendricks for 12, Adrian McLaren, who failed to trouble the scorers, and Morne van Wyk (14). The quickie finished with three for 56 off 17 overs.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
