Big partnership helps Titans

Kimberley - Titans' cricketers Farhaan Behardien and Henry Davids shared a 201 run partnership in their SuperSport Series match against the Knights in Kimberley on Thursday to help their team to 307 for five at the close of play.

The visitors' were at 106/4 when the two joined forces at the crease over the fifth wicket.

Behardien recorded fifth century of his first class career, with 142, including 25 boundaries, one of which cleared the rope.

Left-arm seam bowler Obus Pienaar got rid of Behardien, with Rilee Rossouw taking the catch.

Davids, on 73, will continue the Titans' inning on Friday morning with Faf du Plessis, who is yet to open his account.

Davids' half-century was the 27th of his first class career.

The Knights struck early when Jacques Rudolph (6) was caught behind the stumps by Morne van Wyk off the bowling of Victor Mpitsang (1/58).

Pienaar (3/66) caused the most damage with the ball, also getting rid of Heino Kuhn (10), who was caught at slip by Boeta Dippenaar.

Blake Snijman (20) was dismissed not long after Rudolph, leaving the Titans at 49/2. His stumps were rearranged by Ryan McLaren (1/62).

The other opening batsman, Pieter Malan (29), also could not convert his good start when he was caught by Ryan Bailey off the bowling of Pienaar.
