Benoni - The SuperSport Series match between the Titans and Dolphins at Willowmoore Park was declared a draw after play was called-off on Sunday due to persistent rain.

Not a single ball was bowled on the fourth day and even if the weather had cleared up, there was almost no chance of a result because of rain interruptions on the second and third days.

The Dolphins were supposed to continue their second innings with a healthy 108 run lead they built up by bowling the Titans out for 193.

The Kwa Zulu side's dominance was because of a man-of-the-match performance by Kyle Abbott who shone with both ball and bat.

Abbott scored 80 runs after Titans all-rounder Albie Morkel had ripped through the Dolphins’ top order.

Morkel returned figures of five for 73 in 27 overs.

Abbott and Jon Kent’s partnership of 146 for the seventh wicket was one of the turning points in the match, considering the Dolphins lost their first six wickets for only 96 runs.

This allowed the visitors to post 301 on a track which always had something in it for the bowling side.

Abbott exploited conditions best during the opening session on the third day and eventually accounted for five Titans wickets.
