Cape Town - Rudi Second struck a vital half-century as the Knights put themselves right into the Sunfoil Series title mix with a four-wicket win over the Warriors late on the final day at Buffalo Park on Sunday.
The visiting wicketkeeper was the backbone for his side, scoring 65 from 118 balls in pursuit of a 209 victory target in East London.
There were other important contributions, including 40 not out from just 29 balls by captain Werner Coetsee, which took the Knights over the line with more than 10 overs to spare.
Rilee Rossouw (43) and Michael Erlank (40) also played a hand in a second-wicket partnership of 41 that stabilised the innings following the early loss of Reeza Hendricks (eight).
Proteas batsman Rossouw then added 63 with Second for the third wicket, and although the Warriors tried hard, it was never going to be enough after their earlier disappointment with the bat.
Yaseen Vallie completed his 10th first-class century, but lacked meaningful support as the home side lost their final six wickets for only 48 runs.
Vallie scored 105 from 233 balls before being last man out when the Warriors were bowled out for 226.
Shadley van Schalkwyk (4-44) and man-of-the-match Malusi Siboto (2-33), who claimed eight wickets in the game, were the pick of the bowlers.
Victory earned the visitors 16.7 points, while the hosts took just 5.04 points.
