Rain wins in top of the table clash

Cape Town - Rain was the winner on the final day of the Sunfoil Series clash between the bizhub Highveld Lions and the Unlimited Titans at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on Sunday.

The top-of-the-table clash promised a thrilling climax heading into day four with the hosts having their visitors and log leaders on the ropes on 169 for eight in their second innings, a lead of just 168.

But rain overnight and more heavy showers just after midday forced umpires, Johan Cloete and Lubabalo Gcuma, to abandon play.

Hardus Viljoen had claimed six for 75, while Farhaan Behardien on 41 not out was holding his side together. Alviro Petersen was named man-of-the-match for his 203 in the first innings.

The Lions walked away with 7.9 points to 7.88 for the Titans, who stayed at the top of the table.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
