Another washout in Pietermaritzburg

Cape Town - There was further frustration for the Dolphins and the Warriors on Friday after the second day of their Sunfoil Series clash was washed out at the Pietermaritzburg Oval.

Persistent drizzle had forced umpires Johan Cloete and Stephen Harris to end the first day early.

There were better signs midway through the second day when the rain eased and the skies briefly brightened.

The toss did take place with the visitors calling correctly and electing to bowl first as the umpires decided on a 14:45 start time.

But that never happened after bad light intervened, forcing play to be abandoned for the day.
