Adams hits ton as Titans take control

Durban - An unbeaten century by Qaasim Adams helped the Titans dominate a weather-affected second day of their Sunfoil Series clash against the Dolphins in Durban on Friday.

After more than 45 overs were lost due to a damp pitch and wet areas on the outfield on Thursday, a further 29 were lost to bad light on the second afternoon.

But before that it was the Adams show as he eased his way to a second franchise cricket ton, hitting a chanceless 123 not out (158 balls, 9 fours, 3 sixes) as his team amassed 451/8 declared.

Theunis de Bruyn was out for 48 early in the day, while the other main contributor for the top-of-the-table Titans was Marchant de Lange with a career-best 38.

The Proteas paceman shared in an 82-run stand with Adams for the eighth wicket, which came at over six runs per over.

The pick of the bowlers for the home side was Daryn Dupavillon with 3/87.

De Lange then claimed the only wicket to fall as the Dolphins reached 83/1 when bad light intervened more than 30 minutes before the scheduled close.

Before that the players had gone on and off the field three times due to the poor visibility.

The man to fall for the hosts was Jonathan Vandiar for 44 with a quick ball that kept low to uproot his stumps.

Sarel Erwee was unbeaten on 27 at the end with his team 368 runs behind.
