Pretoria - Titans leg-spinner Shaun von Berg took three wickets to leave the Knights reeling on 212 for eight at stumps in their first innings on day two of their domestic four-day match at SuperSport Park, in Centurion, on Friday.

Von Berg returned figures of 3/59 including two wickets for eight runs in his first seven over spell. The 27-year-old claimed the scalps of middle order batsmen Rudi Second (38), Obus Pienaar (14) and Gerhardt Abrahams (26) to reduce the Knights to 140 for six.

Only a counter-punching innings of 57 unbeaten from 61 balls including nine fours from Werner Coetsee gave some respectability to an otherwise poor batting effort.

At the top of the innings, David Wiese bowled a fiery opening spell and picked up the wickets of Reeza Hendricks (3) and Gihahn Cloete (12).

From the other end, Marchant de Lange, playing for the Titans for the first time since November, worked up good pace. De Lange claimed the key wicket of Rilee Rossouw for 23 as the Knights fell to 46 for three.

Earlier in the day, the Titans resumed on their overnight total of 268 for seven, and Wiese (45) and JP de Villiers (59) shared in a crucial 81 run eighth wicket stand, as the hosts posted 366 in their first innings.

In Cape Town, the Cobras made 378 all out in their first innings against the Warriors. Stiaan van Zyl was top scorer with a fine knock of 143.

On 282 for five overnight, Justin Kemp (33) departed after adding just three to his score, caught Ashwell Prince bowled Andrew Birch.

Down the order, Rory Kleinveldt made 66 before he was bowled by Simon Harmer to end the innings.

Basheeru-Deen Walters had the best figures of 4/72 for the Warriors.

In their reply to the Cobras imposing total, the visitors were in huge trouble from the start.

Kleinveldt was again involved, this time with the ball as he removed Colin Ackermann (11), Prince (4) and Ryan Bailey (4) as the Warriors were left 50 for five. The score soon became 97 for eight, before Athenkosi Dyili (49) and Rusty Theron (28) attempted a recovery. Together the pair shared in a 59 run ninth wicket stand -- the best of the innings for the Warriors as they were 158 all out.

Kleinveldt ended with 4/40 in his 18 overs.

The Cobras opted not to enforce the follow-on and openers Omphile Ramela (16) and Andrew Puttick (12) came out to see the hosts to 31 without loss at stumps, and a lead of 251.

In Durban, the match between the Dolphins and Highveld Lions finally got underway with half centuries from Van Wyk brothers, Divan and Morne, ensuring the hosts dominated proceedings at Kingsmead.

After day one was washed out, bright skies greeted the start of play when the visitors won the toss and opted to bowl first.

But they had little reward with opener Divan making 93 and captain Morne blasting 57 from 61 balls as the Dolphins declared on 329 for seven.

Cliffe Deacon was the pick of the bowler with three for 48 for the Lions, who handed debuts to four players including Proteas Under-19 star Kagiso Rabada.

The teenager bowled tidily on his way to collecting figures of one for 48 in 17 overs.

Fellow debutant Rassie van der Dussen (26) and Stephen Cook (13) then took their side to the close on an extended day on 40 for none - 289 runs behind the Durbanites.
