Cape Town - The Sunfoil Series remains wide open. With just two rounds of matches to go, things are getting tight at the top with the Cape Cobras, the Highveld Lions and the Warriors all vying for the crown.

The second-placed Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras take on the Nashua Titans at Sahara Willowmoore Park this weekend and, after the Western Cape franchise suffered two consecutive losses on the trot, coach Paul Adams believes that it’s crucial for his side to regain their focus.

“We need to focus on our game and refine our focus. We need to switch on again after the losses and get back on track.”

The Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras narrowly lost their last game against the Sunfoil Dolphins in a thrilling match which the KZN franchise clinched by 15 runs. Adams believes it’s important for the players to switch on and regain a serene focus, something which might have been somewhat lacking during their losses.

“We need to have a fine focus in each session, especially after the way we lost the last two games. Hopefully can go back to playing the best cricket we can again. It’s really important for the players to switch on again,” said Adams.

The Nashua Titans are still without a win after eight matches and, while some teams might rest on their laurels thinking that there is an easy game ahead, Adams insists his side will take the game as it comes, knowing that the Centurion-based franchise should not be underestimated and that the rivalry that goes along with the contest is always something to look forward to.

“We know the Titans can be strong and there is a long history of rivalry between the two sides which always makes for an interesting contest,” said Adams.

The fixtures ahead this weekend should culminate in an exciting weekend of cricket and, while the top-three teams will want to know what’s going on in their rivals’ game, Adams insists it’s important for his side to stay focussed on their task and fight until the very end.

“We shouldn't look around at what other guys are doing and what they’re capable of. It’s important for players to scrap and scrap hard until the end,” the coach added.

Lizaad Williams, who has played in three matches for the franchise this season, picking up seven wickets, is not available for selection due to his commitment to the national under-19 side currently playing a series against England.
