Pretoria - Series sponsor Sunfoil on Tuesday announced it will continue with its generosity of donating R1 000 for every four and R2 000 for every six hit during the Test series between South Africa and Sri Lanka.

An impressive R300 000 was raised from the two-match Test series between South Africa and Australia, which will be donated to the sponsor's education fund. The fund was formed to help give bursaries and financial assistance to the children coming through its development cricket programmes.
A total of 250 fours and 11 sixes were hit during the truncated series between South Africa and Australia, which was played at an exciting fast pace. Given the advent of T20 cricket, the batsmen in the Test format are scoring at a higher run-rate and plenty more boundaries are expected to be scored in the upcoming series.
The Proteas have backed the initiative and batsman, Hashim Amla, is happy about the extension of the campaign.
“This is a great initiative by Sunfoil, and it will help and educate young cricketers who are less fortunate. It also feels good as a player to be part of such an initiative because we know that our good performances on the field will go a lot further in helping with the development of the next generation of Proteas players.”
