Shah signs with the Cobras

England batsman Owais Shah and former South African spin-bowler Claude Henderson have become the latest signings for the Cape Cobras.

"I am very pleased with these acquisitions and we expect both Owais and Claude to help the Cobras win matches and provide vital leadership to our younger players", said WCC Chief Executive Officer, Andre Odendaal.

After consistent performances in England and for the Cobras in the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 in India in 2009, Henderson is highly-regarded in this format of the game.

He will arrive in Cape Town on Monday October 4 and Shah - not included in the England squad for the forthcoming one-day and Twenty20 series against Australia - is expected to link up with his Cape Cobra team-mates in late October.
