SL win rain-hit ODI series

Hambantota - The fifth and final one-day international between Sri Lanka and New Zealand was called off after just 28.3 overs due to rain here on Monday.

Sri Lanka clinched the five-match series 3-0, with the first and last one-dayers abandoned due to rain.

The hosts were struggling at 123-8 after being put in to bat when play was called off, with opener Upul Tharanga top-scoring with 60. Fast bowler Tim Southee took three wickets for New Zealand.

Sri Lanka and New Zealand will now play a two-Test series starting in Galle on Saturday.
