Cape Town - The whole SA selection committee, including convener of selectors Andrew Hudson, should resign, says former Proteas spinner Pat Symcox.
Symcox, 53, is upset with the selection of the Proteas one-day team after their 23-run loss to Pakistan in the first ODI at Newlands last Sunday.
Symcox was particularly upset at the omission of Ryan McLaren, who was Man of the Series in South Africa's recent ODI win over Pakistan in the UAE.
The Proteas have become notorious for chopping and changing their ODI side on a consistent basis over the last few years.
Symcox said it's time that the selectors explain to the public how they go about picking the national ODI team.
"It's a disgrace, they have to resign. Andrew Hudson as well. Write that!" Symcox told the Volksblad website.
"They should stop making the players look bad. McLaren was recently named Man of the Series in the Proteas' previous series in the United Arab Emirates.
"He's also taken something like the third most wickets in one-day games this year.
"If I were Ryan McLaren, then I'd rather go and play in England and in the Indian Premier League," continued Symcox.
The second ODI against Pakistan takes place in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday, with the third and final one scheduled for Centurion on Saturday.
