Rossouw replaces Elgar

Johannesburg - Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Tuesday called up Rilee Rossouw to replace his Chevrolet Knights’ team-mate, Dean Elgar, in the South Africa A side to play against Australia and Zimbabwe in a triangular limited overs tournament in Zimbabwe later this month.

Elgar has suffered a broken hand and his withdrawal has been confirmed by the CSA Medical Committee.

“We are sorry to lose a senior player at this level in Dean who has also captained this group with distinction,” commented CSA selection convener Andrew Hudson, “but at the same time this is an opportunity for Rilee and, as I have said before, we are delighted to have the depth that enables us to call up a replacement of this calibre.”

Rossouw played in both the successful A tours to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka last year and has just returned from a stint with the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Indian Premier League (IPL) although he did not get game time.
