Roelof scoops top award

Pretoria - Roelof van der Merwe won Player of the Year at the 2012/13 Easterns Titans franchise awards on Friday.

Van der Merwe was also the recipient of the Players' Player of the Year award, to scoop the major awards of the evening.

Fast bowler Ethy Mbhalati won First Class Cricketer of the Year, Henry Davids won One Day Cricketer of the Year, and Albie Morkel claimed the T20 Cricketer of the Year.

JP de Villiers was awarded Newcomer of the Year and Mangaliso Mosehle received the Most Improved Player of the Year award.
