Cape Town - The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the third and final Test between South Africa and India will resume at the Wanderers on Saturday.

India set the Proteas a victory target of 241 after they were bowled out in their second innings on Day 3.
The Proteas had reached 17/1 in their response when Dean Elgar was felled by a short-pitched delivery and the sickening blow, plus the rain shower that followed, saw the umpires suspend play for the day some 20 minutes ahead of the scheduled close.
Twitter exploded with a number of former cricketers expressing their opinions regarding the volatile Wanderers wicket:
Looks like a pitch gone wrong at The Wanderers .....

It’s a very interesting wicket at the Wanderers but if both Captains agreed to play on the test match must carry on . With reference the ball that hit Elgar was short and did not rear off a length !! So the bottom line keep you eye on the ball and try get out of the way .

Play should have been called off a lot sooner. Not an easy decision for the umpires but one they should have made. Difficult to call it off now after the Indians batted on it all day!!

If I was the Indian Board I would advise CSA and the Umpires that if there is no further play tomorrow the ODI's and T20 are cancelled and India are leaving SA. Period. @bhogleharsha @GraemeSmith49

Two things I will say about this test .. if anyone ever calls this Indian batting line up flat track bullies again they need to be reminded of the skill and bravery they have shown in this innings ..

We call this match off, we can guarantee 1 test match series' against India in the future

While what happened to Elgar was unfortunate, the track hasn't done anything different from what it did all day.

Surely the captains won't be calling it off. India have batted and faced the music and a South African bloke prepared the pitch so I can understand if Kohli is unhappy.

Someone has to take responsibility for this. Very bad for SA cricket!
