Cape Town - Proteas fast bowler Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the third Test against England at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.

Steyn missed the second Test at Newlands due to a shoulder injury picked up in the first Test at Kingsmead in Durban.

There was hope that he would play at the Wanderers, but he was ruled out on Monday.

The third Test starts on Thursday with England currently leading the four-Test series 1-0.
