Cheers! SAB renew CSA sponsorship

Cape Town - The South African Breweries (SAB) has extended the relationship of Castle Lager with Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Proteas for a further five years.

The sponsorship will take on a new dimension with Castle Lager’s longstanding involvement as Test and ODI team sponsor being replaced with a new commercial agreement, making it the “Official Beer of the Proteas”.

The new five-year deal will run until the conclusion of the 2021 season.

“We are proud to announce our continued sponsorship of, and commitment to, the Proteas and CSA,” commented Nic Scheijde, general manager of Castle Lager.

“As the ‘Official Beer of the Proteas’, Castle Lager will be able to further entrench our relationship with South African sports development, the players themselves and the fans behind the boys.”

One of the brand’s aims is to enhance the match experience across all three formats of the game through the popular and festive Castle Corners across the country.

“Cricket will be the real winner and we are looking forward to partnering with the new team sponsor to take SA cricket to greater heights,” he concluded.

“SAB and Castle Lager are true sporting partners and we are very grateful for their support of cricket over more than two decades,” commented CSA CEO, Haroon Lorgat.

“Their contribution to sports in South Africa is phenomenal and we are indeed very happy that they will remain partners of CSA and henceforth be involved with our fans too.”
