Rabada into Top 10 in ICC rankings

Cape Town - Proteas star bowler Kagiso Rabada has reached his career-best ranking by moving up six places to break into the Top 10 of the latest ICC one-day international (ODI) rankings.

Rabada, who was previously positioned at 13th, is now tied with fellow fast bowler Dale Steyn on 645 points, in seventh.

The 21-year-old fast bowler took seven wickets in the recently concluded Caribbean tri-series, where South Africa failed to make the final and dropped in the team rankings.

Rabada was the second highest South African wicket-taker behind leg-spinner Imran Tahir, who captured 13.

Despite a magnificent effort with the ball, Tahir dropped one place to fourth behind Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan.

Rabada's bowling partner Morné Morkel, who only played the two games, slipped one position from eighth to ninth.

On the batting front, Proteas skipper AB de Villiers remains firmly at the top of the ODI rankings along with South Africa's best batsman of the series, Hashim Amla (241 runs) stationed at third. Amla's opening partner Quinton de Kock didn't fare so well and dropped one place to ninth.

Farhaan Behardien has also gone up, moving to 49th, while Faf du Plessis remains 11th.
