Proteas places up for grabs

Cape Town - With a full round of One Day Cup matches taking place on Friday, most of the Proteas who were a part of the Test series against England will be available for their franchises.

Only Morne Morkel, Kagiso Rabada, AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla have been given the day off to rest.

Between the domestic matches and the SA 'A' side's clash against England in Kimberley on Saturday, there are places up for grabs in the Proteas One Day squad with Dale Steyn ruled out of the upcoming series against England and Kyle Abbott out of the first match in Bloemfontein on February 3.

Hardus Viljoen, Wayne Parnell, David Wiese and Andile Phehlukwayo are all in action for SA 'A' and will all be eyeing strong performances to catch the attention of the national selectors.

There is also a lot to play for among the batsmen with Rilee Rossouw, Faf du Plessis and JP Duminy - all available for their franchises - competing for places in the middle-order.

The Proteas are set to announce the additions to the ODI squad after Saturday's SA 'A' game.
