Cape Town - Former Springbok legend Joost van der Westhuizen has thanked England fast bowler Stuart Broad for his support in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
Van der Westhuizen has been suffering from the crippling disease since 2011.
"The Broad Appeal" is run by Stuart Broad, his father Chris and sister Gemma and is aimed at helping raise money and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease.
Stuart Broad's step-mother Miche took her own life after suffering from the disease in 2010.
Van der Westhuizen was present prior to the start of the third Test between the Proteas and England at the Wanderers on Thursday.
