Centurion to cash in on India tour

Cape Town - SuperSport Park in Centurion is the place to be for India's upcoming tour of South Africa.

With the two heavyweights set to clash in three Tests, six ODIs and three T20Is between January 5 and February 24, there is a lot of enthralling cricket to look forward to in the coming weeks.

And Titans headquarters will benefit more than most.

In addition to hosting the second Test against India from January 13, SuperSport Park will also host the second T20I on February 21 as well as TWO of the six ODIS - on February 4 and 16.

CSA have a structure that seeks to award the bulk of the big international matches to the five major grounds in South Africa - Centurion, Newlands, Wanderers, Kingsmead and St George’s Park.

Given that Centurion is the only one of those grounds that will not be hosting a Test against Australia in March, the decision was taken to give them the sixth ODI against India.

Initially, there were only due to be five ODIs and four Tests against India, but when the tour was restructured due to their commitments with Sri Lanka over the festive season, a Test was dropped and an ODI added.

The result is that, against India at least, Pretoria-based fans are in for a festival of cricket.

The first Test gets underway in Cape Town on Friday, January 5.
