Cape Town - Marchant de Lange looks set to be the next Proteas cricketer to opt for a Kolpak deal in England.
According to Afrikaans weekly, Rapport, De Lange could join Glamorgan, with negotiations between the fast bowler and the English county “at an advanced stage”.
De Lange, 26, has played two Tests, four ODIs and six T20Is for South Africa in an injury-plagued career.
This follows a weekend report on ESPNcricinfo that Proteas all-rounder David Wiese would join Sussex.
According to the cricket specialist website, Wiese has informed his franchise, the Titans, that he is seeking a Kolpak deal but that he has yet to confirm his departure.
Wiese has primarily been used in T20Is by South Africa but at 31, a Kolpak contract would almost certainly spell an end to his international career.
The big all-rounder has played 20 T20Is for the Proteas, taking 24 wickets and scoring 92 runs with his best performance with the ball being the 5/23 he took against the West Indies in Durban back in 2015.
This will be a further blow for Cricket South Africa, who just last week lost the services of fast bowler Kyle Abbott and Rilee Rossouw, who also signed Kolpak deals in England.
Batsmen Colin Ingram and Stiaan van Zyl, spinner Simon Harmer and fast bowler Hardus Viljoen are other Proteas players who also recently signed Kolpak deals.
Players who sign Kolpak deals in England are unavailable for South Africa in international cricket.
