Amla refused 'underdressed' reporter interview

Cape Town - According to various media reports, Proteas batsman Hashim Amla refused to give an interview to a female TV host during South Africa's recent tour to India.

Various websites, including ABP LIVE, Sportskeeda.com and cricketcountry.com, reported that Amla, who is a strict believer and follower of Islam, said the woman was not appropriately dressed, and if she wanted to interview him, she had to be properly dressed.

The woman then quickly changed after which Amla agreed to be interviewed.

Amla was reportedly not comfortable that the TV host was wearing a skirt and a low-neck top.

The Proteas won the T20 and ODI series on their India tour, but lost the Test series 3-0 under Amla’s captaincy.

Amla recently relinquished the Test captaincy during the series against England, with ODI skipper AB de Villiers taking over.
