Sri Lanka confirm SA tour

Cape Town - The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board on Saturday announced the itinerary for the Proteas squad’s tour of Sri Lanka in July.

The tour will consist of two Test matches and three ODIs.

The Proteas will arrive on June 30 and will play a 50-over warm-up match on July 3.

The series will begin with the 1st ODI which will be played on July 6 at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS) followed by the 2nd ODI at Pallekelle (PICS) on July 9. The 3rd ODI will be in Hambanthota on July 12.

The two-Test Series will begin on July 16. The 1st Test will be in Galle followed by the 2nd Test at the Singalese Sports Club (SSC) on July 24.

“The Test series is the one that was postponed from last year at Sri Lanka’s request,” commented Cricket South Africa (CSA) Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat, “and is indicative of the good progress we are making in finalising commitments with all countries in terms of the ICC Future Tours Programme (FTP).

“We should be in a position to announce further exciting news regarding forthcoming international series in the near future.”
