Cape Town - Following their 2-1 series win over New Zealand, the Proteas have moved up one spot to No 3 on the official ICC ODI rankings.
South Africa leapfrogged New Zealand into third spot courtesy of their series win, with the Black Caps slipping back to fourth in the world.
AB de Villiers’s men entered the series on 109 rating points, one behind the Kiwis, but have now increased that by a single point, with New Zealand slipping back to 109.
World champions Australia still sit comfortably atop the rankings with 129 rating points, with India second on 115.
The Proteas’ next assignment is a tour of India at the end of September.
It will be a mammoth 72-day tour which consists of three T20 internationals, five ODIs and four Tests.
The Proteas are currently ranked No 1 In Tests and No 6 in T20s.
