Proteas beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets

Dhaka - South Africa beat Bangladesh by eight wickets in the first one-day international to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla national stadium on Friday.

The Proteas reached 164-2 with 8.5 overs in hand after they were set an easy target after Bangladesh were dismissed for 160 in 36.3 overs in the rain-reduced 40-over-a-side game.

The second and third ODI of the three-match series will be held on July 12 and 15 in Dhaka and Chittagong.
