Cape Town - Charl Langeveldt has been appointed head bowling coach of the Proteas, replacing Allan Donald, who stepped down after the Cricket World Cup earlier this year.
Langeveldt was part of the Proteas coaching staff as a bowling consultant at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, but has now been offered a permanent role.
Langeveldt’s appointment was one of several made by Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Tuesday.
Head coach Russell Domingo also had his contract extended until April 30, 2017, as well as team manager Mohammed Moosajee.
Linda Zondi was appointed as CSA convener of selectors, replacing Andrew Hudson, who resigned after the World Cup.
The other three independent selectors appointed to the national selection panel are - Hussein Manack, Errol Stewart and Ashwell Prince, while Domingo will serve as the fifth member of the selection panel.
