Cape Town - Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Tuesday named Warriors off-spinner, Simon Harmer, as an addition to the Proteas squad for the final Test against the West Indies which starts at Newlands on Friday.
"We would like to have the option of a second spinner in the squad," commented CSA selection convener, Andrew Hudson.
If Harmer gains selection he will be the 86th player to represent the Proteas in the five-day format.
Heavy overnight rain and a wet outfield prevented any play on the final
day of the second Test at St. George’s Park. The match thus ended in a
draw.
South Africa retain the Sir Vivian Richards Trophy as they can no
longer lose the series.
Proteas squad for Newlands:

Plessis, Stiaan van Zyl,
Temba Bavuma, Vernon Philander, Imran Tahir, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Kyle Abbott, Kagiso Rabada, Rilee Rossouw, Simon Harmer
