AB's surgery a success

Pretoria - The surgery to remove a plate in AB de Villiers' left hand on Friday was a success.

De Villiers fractured his hand during the IPL in 2011 after which he had a plate inserted to assist with recovery.

The plate had started to cause discomfort and needed to be surgically removed.

He will start with light rehab on Monday and is on track to be ready for the upcoming tour against Australia in February.
