Proteas' products in demand

Johannesburg - Cricket South Africa (CSA) and Adidas are working around the clock to meet the record demand for Proteas’ merchandise ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup which was officially launched in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Thursday.

Public support for the Proteas’ Cricket Friday concept has been so strong that stocks of the replica Proteas’ green shirt at retail outlets are severely depleted.

“It has been extremely exciting to see the level of demand for Proteas’ replica shirts. It has exceeded our wildest expectations, as well as the sales numbers forecast by retailers,” commented CSA Commercial Manager Richard Glover.

“We are working with adidas to do everything we can to make fresh stocks available to the various retail outlets by early March.

“It is great to see the huge support for cricket in South Africa and we are sure this will have a very positive impact on the Proteas as they launch their bid to win the World Cup with their first Group B match against the West Indies at Delhi next Thursday.

“In the mean time other Proteas merchandise items can be purchased from the likes of Sneakers’ and Makro stores,” Glover concluded.
