Prior surprised by CWC call

Hobart - England wicketkeeper Matt Prior said he felt like he had "come home again" after he was unexpectedly included in England's 15-man squad for next month's Cricket World Cup in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The selectors on Wednesday chose Prior for the February 19-April 2 event ahead of Steve Davies, who featured in England's squad for the ongoing seven ODI series against Australia.

"I got the phone call from (England coach) Andy (Flower). I wasn't expecting it," Prior told reporters on Thursday.

"I've loved every second since rejoining the squad. It feels like I've come home again so I'm really happy."

The 28-year-old Prior, who played the last of his 55 one-day internationals against Bangladesh in March 2010, will join the England squad ahead of Friday's second ODI against Australia in Hobart.

"I'm a very different player to the guy that opened the batting for England in one-day cricket however many years ago," the right-handed batsman said.

"I always seem to get off to good starts, it was probably just having that experience that I didn't have at the time to then go on and make that match-winning score.

"I think (Andrew) Strauss and I will form a pretty good partnership.
