Johannesburg - South Africa fast bowler Wayne Parnell is in danger of missing the World Twenty20 with coach Corrie van Zyl having described his groin injury as "fairly serious".
Van Zyl said in Tuesday's Cape Times that "I do know it is fairly serious" and is waiting on a "prognosis from the specialist."
The 20-year-old Parnell has already been ruled out of the IPL after the Delhi Daredevils paid $610 00 for his services.
Proteas captain Graeme Smith is also facing a race to be fit for the World Twenty20 in the West Indies, which begins on April 30, after he broke a finger in the IPL. While allrounder Justin Kemp has a back problem and is also in doubt.
