Pakistan v SL delayed by rain

Sharjah - Consistent rain made no play possible before lunch on the fifth morning of the third and final cricket Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Sharjah on Monday.

Both the umpires inspected the ground as covers were already placed before the scheduled start at 10:00 and since it continued to rain there was no possibility of play.

Sri Lanka were due to resume their second innings at 164-5, an overall lead of 237 runs. They are aiming to level the series after losing the second Test in Dubai by nine wickets.

"The umpires will assess the situation after the break before taking any decision," it was announced.

The first Test in Abu Dhabi ended in a draw.

Opener Tharanga Paranavitana was unbeaten on 66 and Kosala Kulasekara was four not out.
