Pakistan down Bangladesh

Dhaka - Pakistan posted a 21-run victory over Bangladesh in the opening match of the Asia Cup one-day tournament here on Sunday.

Mohammad Hafeez (89 and 2-40) put in an impressive all-round performance as Pakistan bowled Bangladesh out for 241 after posting 262-8 in the day-night match.

Shakib Al Hasan and opener Tamim Iqbal each scored 64 for Bangladesh, while Nasir Hossain contributed 47.

Fast bowler Umar Gul bagged three wickets for Pakistan, and spinners Shahid Afridi and Saeed Ajmal took two wickets apiece.
