Pakistan bat in first SL ODI

Sharjah - Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and opted to bat in the first day-night international against Sri Lanka in Sharjah on Wednesday.

Pakistan gave a one-day debut to 24-year-old opener Sharjeel Khan, who also played in the 1-1 Twenty20 series here last week.

Sri Lanka started with paceman Suranga Lakmal instead of Nuwan Kulasekara.

Pakistan: Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Mohammad Hafeez, Sharjeel Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Sohaib Maqsood, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Junaid Khan, Sohail Tanvir, Bilawal Bhatti.

Sri Lanka: Angelo Mathews (captain), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kusal Perera, Kumar Sangakkara, Dinesh Chandimal, Lahiru Thirimanne, Thisara Perera, Lasith Malinga, Suranga Lakmal, Sachithra Senanayake, Seekkuge Prasanna.

Umpires: Johan Cloete (RSA) and Shozab Raza (PAK)
