Oz duo join 'A' squad

Sydney - Cricket Australia says Test paceman Peter Siddle will join the second-string 'A' squad for their tour of Zimbabwe in place of James Faulkner, who is ruled out with glandular fever.

Siddle replaces Faulkner for two four-day matches of the series against a Zimbabwe XI, while allrounder John Hastings will play the one-day matches in a triangular tournament, which also features a South Africa A team.

Chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch on Thursday said the series would offer both Siddle and Hastings a chance to impress after absences from international cricket.

Australia's next Test tour is to Sri Lanka in August.

Australia A's first one-dayer is June 29 against Zimbabwe. The four-day matches start on July 15 and July 21.
