Pietermaritzburg - The One Day Cup match between the Dolphins and the Knights was abandoned due to a wet outfield at The Oval, in Pietermaritzburg, on Sunday.
The umpires conducted an initial inspection under overcast skies and in light drizzle at o9:30 when the toss was due, before deciding on a second assessment at 11:30.
However, conditions hardly improved in that time and the covers also briefly went back on due to further drizzle.
The captains eventually shook hands and both sides walked away with two points each.
The result was particularly harsh on the Dolphins, who picked up their third no-result in five home games this season, which left them on 14 points after eight matches.
The Knights had 16 points after seven games in the competition.
