Dolphins, Cobras abandon match

Durban - Persistent rain on Sunday forced the top-of-the-table domestic one day cup match between the Dolphins and Cape Cobras to be abandoned at Kingsmead.

The covers were on for most of the day, briefly coming off around 08:00, but they were quickly pulled back onto the pitch after the wet weather returned.

It was still drizzling at the scheduled toss time of 09:30, with little sign of the weather clearing and the conditions only worsened leaving umpires Adrian Holdstock and Allahudien Paleker to eventually call off the game at 13:00.

Both sides shared the four points on offer with the Cobras moving to 21 points and the Dolphins 16.

The totals leave them in unassailable positions as the competition now heads for a break until January.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
