Cobras bat first at Newlands

Cape Town - Cape Cobras captain Justin Ontong has won the toss and elected to bat in Wednesday's one day clash against the Knights at Newlands.

The Cobras are looking to stretch their unbeaten record after comprehensively winning their first three games to entrench their position at the top of the 50-over log.

Ontong's team have already beaten the Knights once this season with a bonus-point victory in Kimberley.

Cobras openers Richard Levi and Andrew Puttick both passed their fitness tests to take their place at the top of the order.

Yaseen Vallie dropped out along with Shaheen Khan as young seamer Lizaad Williams got his first opportunity in the series.

Teams:

Cobras: Andrew Puttick, Richard Levi, Omphile Ramela, Stiaan van Zyl, Justin Ontong (capt), Dane Vilas (wk), SA Engelbrecht, Robin Peterson, Rory Kleinveldt, Mthokozisi Shezi, Lizaad Williams.

Knights: Gerhardt Abrahams, Reeza Hendricks, Rudi Second, Pite van Biljon, Tumelo Bodibe, Obus Pienaar, Werner Coetzee (capt), Dillon du Preez, Malusi Siboto, Shadley van Schalkwyk, Quinton Friend.
