Ntini to play for Kent

Johannebsurg - South African pace bowler Makhaya Ntini has signed to play for Kent as their overseas professional for the next month of the England county season.

Kent originally signed Stuart Clark of Australia but he had to pull out through injury.

Ntini has been contracted to the Chennai Super Kings at the Indian Premier League but, like many of his compatriots, has not had any game time.

Loots Bosman has also been given a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by Cricket South Africa (CSA) to play for Derbyshire from June to August, once he has completed his commitments for the Proteas at the ICC World Twenty20 and the ODI segment of South Africa's tour of the West Indies.

Two other CSA contracted players, Hashim Amla and Ashwell Prince, are playing for Nottinghamshire and Lancashire respectively until they join the Proteas' tour of the West Indies. Amla has made one century and two half-centuries in his three innings for Nottinghamshire to date while Prince has a top score of 82 for Lancashire.

Herschelle Gibbs is also heading for England in the second half of the season.
