MCC names Gatting president
London - Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), owner of Lord’s cricket ground, has officially appointed Mike Gatting as president.
According to the SportBusiness website
, former England and Middlesex team captain Gatting begins his one-year presidency on Tuesday, following reports earlier in the year that he would take over the role from former Sussex captain Mike Griffith.
The 56-year-old told Lords TV: "It is an amazing honour to have been asked to serve as president at the best cricket club in the world. Lord’s is such a special place and we must make sure it continues to be the finest ground in the world.”
