Lehmann: Johnson fit for Tests

Melbourne - Australia cricket coach Darrenn Lehmann says fast bowler Mitchell Johnson will be fit for Australia's Test series against Pakistan, starting next month in the United Arab Emirates.

Johnson was withdrawn from the Champions League Twenty20 tournament because of concern over a rib injury but will be with the Australia squad when it flies out to the UAE.

Lehmann said Johnson will "be fine to go. Expect him to play the one-dayers, obviously not the T20 but the one-dayers and the Test series."

The first Test starts October 22 and Lehmann is also confident captain Michael Clarke will have recovered from a hamstring injury to play in that match.

He said "I'm confident, he's confident and that's about where it is at the moment."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
