Nagpur - Paceman Charl Langeveldt was on Sunday added to South Africa's squad for the upcoming three-match one-day international series against India.

"We have decided to add Langeveldt as an additional player to the squad announced earlier," South Africa's selection convener Gerald Majola said in a statement.

South Africa are currently playing a two-Test series in India, the first of which started in Nagpur Saturday.

"We do not believe that we have all our bases covered at the moment in the bowling department," Majola said, referring to the one-day squad.

"We have two major ICC tournaments coming up, first the World Twenty20 in the West Indies and then next year's World Cup on the sub-continent and it is important that we explore all our options.

"Langeveldt also brings much needed experience to our attack. He has played 64 matches while Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Wayne Parnell have played only 67 matches between them."

The one-day internationals will be played in Jaipur (Feb 21), Gwalior (Feb 24) and Ahmedabad (Feb 27) after the conclusion of the ongoing two-Test series.

South Africa ODI squad:

Graeme Smith (captain), Loots Bosman, Johan Botha, Mark Boucher, AB de Villiers Jean-Paul Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Charl Langeveldt, Albie Morkel, Morne Morkel, Wayne Parnell, Alviro Petersen, Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Roelof van der Merwe.
