Harare - Former South Africa allrounder Lance Klusener has signed a one-year contract to play domestic cricket in Zimbabwe under ex-Proteas teammate Allan Donald.
Manicaland Mountaineers chief executive Philip Senzani told The Associated Press that Klusener will arrive in Harare on Friday to join the team for the 2010-11 season.
Known as a one-day specialist, Klusener played 171 ODIs and averaged 41.10 with the bat at an impressive strike rate of 89.91.
The 39-year-old Klusener turned down an offer to become the bowling coach of the Bangladesh national team after reportedly failing to convince his wife to move to the Asian country.
Last month, Donald was presented as head coach of the Mountaineers, who are based in Mutare.
