Cape Town - Ex-Proteas fast bowler Fanie de Villiers could be in trouble after making a rude comment about the hairy armpits of Portuguese women.
De Villiers was doing commentary for SuperSport on the first Test between South African and India at the Wanderers over the weekend.
When video footage of two female fans with their arms raised was displayed on Friday, De Villiers said "you would only see black under their arms if this was in Portugal".
SuperSport spokesperson, Clinton van der Berg, told the Beeld website they are aware of the comments made by De Villiers.
Van der Berg apologised for the "offensive" comments.
"We take the matter seriously and disciplinary action could be taken against Fanie," said Van der Berg.
De Villiers said he didn't mean for the comments to be offensive.
By late Monday afternoon, the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA) had not received any complaint regarding the matter.
