IPL contracts for 20 SA stars

Johannesburg - A total of 20 South Africans have been signed up for the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be played on the sub-continent from April.

There are several newcomers to the competition including two young Proteas’ batsmen, Colin Ingram and Faf du Plessis.

There are also four players who have yet to represent the Proteas: Highveld Lions batsman Jonathan Vandiar and all-rounder Robbie Frylinck, Knights batsman Rilee Rossouw and Warriors wicketkeeper/batsman Davy Jacobs.

All four of them made their mark in one of the first two editions of the Champions’ League.

Deccan Chargers: Dale Steyn (1.2-million), JP Duminy (300 000), Rusty Theron (85 000)

Royal Challengers Bangalore:
AB de Villiers (1.1-milion), Charl Langeveldt (140 000), Johannes van der Wath (50 000), Rilee Rossouw (20 000), Jonathan Vandiar (20 000)

Kolkata Knight Riders:
Jacques Kallis (1.1-million)

Rajasthan Royals:
Johan Botha (950 000)

Pune:
Graeme Smith (500 000), Wayne Parnell (160 000), Alfonso Thomas (100 000)

Delhi Daredevils:
Morne Morkel (475 000), Colin Ingram (100 000), Roelof van der Merwe (50 000), Robert Frylinck (20 000)

Mumbai Indians:
Davy Jacobs (190 000)

Chennai Super Kings:
Albie Morkel (retained), Faf du Plessis (120 000)
