Windies bat against Sri Lanka

Colombo - West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss and elected to bat in the World Twenty20 final against hosts Sri Lanka in Colombo on Sunday.

Sri Lanka made one change from the side that beat Pakistan in the semi-final, bringing in 20-year-old spinner Akila Dananjaya in place of Rangana Herath.

The West Indies retained the same team that defeated Australia in the second semi-final.

Sri Lanka: Mahela Jayawardene (captain), Angelo Mathews, Kumar Sangakkara, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Lahiru Thirimanne, Jeevan Mendis, Thisara Perera, Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Kulasekara, Ajantha Mendis, Akila Dananjaya.

West Indies: Darren Sammy (captain), Dwayne Bravo, Samuel Badree, Johnson Charles, Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels.

Umpires: Simon Taufel (AUS) and Aleem Dar (PAK)

TV umpire: Rod Tucker (AUS)
