Windies bat against England

Pallekele - West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss and elected to bat against England in a group one Super Eights match of the World Twenty20 in Pallekele on Thursday.

Both teams added an extra spinner, the West Indies bringing in Samuel Badree and England playing Samit Patel.

Sri Lanka and New Zealand, the other two teams in the group, played out a thrilling tie earlier in the day before the hosts won the Super Over tie-breaker.
